There was once a girl who told a story.
Once I dreamed a dream that came to me
After conversations in the rain and
Paper airplanes that pinned my heart
I dreamed that maybe I would not have to drift alone
That maybe there was someone for me.
But time went on and initial fire gave way
To a sullen, cold hearth of silence
And I let go of this dream
Like a child lets go of a kite
With a prayer and a wish and kiss good-bye.
Somehow though the feeling, the dream, it just wouldn’t die
No matter how much I wanted it to.
So I went on my separate path that wound so dangerously close to yours
And finally they intertwined.
Now I’m at a crossroads and I don’t know which road to take,
The well-trodden path that leads to a certain end
Or the mysterious one that promises nothing
But hints at everything.
It is the difference between life and death.
Can I say that I have really lived if I never took a risk?
